Dr. Paul Krause, who strives to bring a well-rounded, holistic approach to his patients’ lives, leads better Back and Body. He attended Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1994. He began an Eastside chiropractic office the following year and has been practicing at his current Juanita Beach chiropractic office since 2008.

WHAT INSPIRED DR. KRAUSE?

Dr. Krause was in a head on collision and a rollover car accident before the age of 12.  He was unfortunately an unbelted passenger in both accidents.  In each of the accidents no one was severely injured and recovery seemed quick.  As a teenager, Dr. Krause suffered an injury to his lower back playing high school basketball.

He was referred to the only chiropractor in the small town in eastern Washington where he grew up and X-rays showed prior injury to Dr. Krause’s spine from the automobile accidents he was in as a child.  The chiropractor explained how the injuries from the automobile accidents never healed properly from not treating them and how that caused problems and spinal changes over the years.  Even though it appeared that everyone was okay from the automobile accidents, the chiropractor explained that the spinal changes were beginning to take their toll.  He outlined a treatment plan of chiropractic adjustments and after a series of adjustments the lower back pain settled down and Dr. Krause was back to his normal routine after a few weeks.  He has continued his chiropractic care being a regular chiropractic patient since the age of 17.

While in chiropractic school, Dr. Krause met and started treating alongside Dr. Vern Pierce. Dr. Pierce had developed a chiropractic adjusting style that resonated with Dr. Krause.  He began to use that technique while in student clinic with great success and continuted to refine the method over the past 25 years to obtain  exceptional results as a modern chiropractor in Kirkland.

Today, Dr. Krause cares for people of all ages with a variety of health conditions and enjoys teaching his patients and the public about health and wellness. When not in the office, Dr. Krause can often be found working on cars, traveling and spending time with his family. He lives in Kirkland, WA.

If you’ve been dealing with persistent aches, stiffness, or discomfort that just won’t seem to go away, it might be time to consider seeing a chiropractor. Chiropractic care focuses on the alignment of the spine and the function of the nervous system, helping the body heal and move more efficiently. Many people wait until pain becomes unbearable before scheduling an appointment, but early intervention can prevent problems from worsening. At Better Back and Body, we provide expert chiropractic care in the greater Kirkland, WA area. Here are four signs that you could benefit from seeing a chiropractor now. Consistent Back or Neck Pain Lingering back or neck pain is one of the most common reasons people seek chiropractic care. Misalignments in the spine can place pressure on nerves and muscles, leading to discomfort and limited mobility. If you’ve tried rest, stretching, or over-the-counter remedies without lasting relief, a chiropractor can assess the root cause and provide targeted adjustments that restore alignment and reduce pain. Limited Range of Motion If you notice that your neck, shoulders, or back feel stiff, or you struggle to turn or bend comfortably, your body may be signaling that something is out of alignment. Restricted movement often results from joint dysfunction or inflammation. Chiropractors use gentle adjustments and stretching techniques to restore flexibility and help your joints move freely again, improving overall comfort and mobility. Frequent Headaches Tension headaches can often stem from poor posture, muscle tension, or misalignments in the neck and upper back. If you find yourself reaching for pain relievers regularly, chiropractic adjustments may help by improving spinal alignment and blood flow. A Sedentary Lifestyle or Poor Posture If you sit at a desk for long hours or spend significant time on your phone, you may be developing posture-related problems such as forward head tilt or rounded shoulders. Over time, these habits can cause misalignments and discomfort. Chiropractors can identify postural issues, perform corrective adjustments, and offer ergonomic advice to help prevent further strain. Chiropractic care has long been recognized as an effective way to improve spinal health, reduce pain, and enhance overall well-being. While many people seek a chiropractor only when they’re experiencing discomfort, scheduling regular visits offers a wide range of benefits that extend beyond pain relief. Consistent care helps keep the body aligned and can even prevent future problems. At Better Back and Body, we provide expert chiropractic care in the greater Kirkland, WA area. Here are four reasons why making chiropractic appointments a part of your routine is worth it. Improved Posture and Alignment In today’s world, where long hours are spent sitting at desks or looking down at phones, poor posture is a common problem. Over time, this can lead to misalignment of the spine, discomfort, and even chronic pain. Regular chiropractic adjustments help correct these issues by realigning the spine and improving posture. Relief from Chronic Pain Many people turn to chiropractors for relief from back pain, neck pain, or headaches, but the benefits are amplified with consistent treatment. Rather than just masking the symptoms with medication, chiropractic care targets the root cause of the pain. Regular adjustments can provide lasting relief and reduce the likelihood of recurring issues, making it easier to enjoy daily activities without discomfort. Enhanced Mobility and Flexibility As the body ages, joints can become stiff and less flexible. Chiropractic care promotes mobility by helping to ensure that joints move freely and remain properly aligned. Regular adjustments can prevent stiffness from setting in, improve flexibility, and make physical activities easier. Whether you’re an athlete or someone who just wants to stay active, this benefit can make a big difference. Prevention of Future Problems One of the greatest advantages of scheduling regular chiropractic appointments is prevention. By addressing minor issues before they become serious, chiropractic care helps protect against future pain and injuries. Just like routine dental checkups, preventive care helps keep everything running smoothly and reduces the risk of major problems later on. Neck pain is a common complaint that can stem from a variety of causes . While occasional discomfort may be harmless, chronic neck pain can interfere with daily life and lead to more serious issues if not properly managed. If you’re experiencing persistent neck pain, then you could benefit from seeing an experienced chiropractor. At Better Back and Body, we provide expert chiropractic care in the greater Kirkland, WA area. Fortunately, there are practical steps you can take to reduce your risk of developing neck pain. Here are four helpful tips for preventing neck pain before it starts. Practice Good Posture Maintaining proper posture throughout the day is one of the most effective ways to prevent neck pain. Whether you’re sitting at a desk, standing in line, or scrolling through your phone, it’s important to keep your head aligned with your spine. Slouching or hunching forward places unnecessary strain on the neck muscles and can lead to stiffness and pain. Try to keep your shoulders back and down, your chin slightly tucked, and your ears aligned with your shoulders. Set Up an Ergonomic Workspace If you spend a significant amount of time at a desk or computer, your workstation setup can have a major impact on your neck health. Your monitor should be at eye level to prevent you from bending your neck down or tilting your head forward for extended periods. A supportive chair, a desk at the proper height, and a keyboard positioned so your arms can relax naturally can also help minimize neck strain. Making a few ergonomic adjustments can go a long way in keeping neck pain at bay. Take Frequent Breaks from Screens Long periods of screen time can encourage poor posture and muscle fatigue, especially if you’re often looking down at a phone or tablet. To counteract this, make a habit of taking short breaks throughout the day. Every 30 to 60 minutes, stand up, stretch your neck and shoulders, and reset your posture. These mini-breaks can help prevent the buildup of tension and promote better circulation in your neck and upper back. Stay Active and Stretch Regularly Regular physical activity helps strengthen the muscles that support your neck and improves overall flexibility. Low-impact exercises like walking, swimming, and yoga can be especially beneficial. Incorporating gentle neck and shoulder stretches into your daily routine can also reduce muscle tightness and increase range of motion. Consistency is key—staying active and limber is one of the best long-term strategies for keeping neck pain at bay.
